Mariam Mohamed is a ten years old 5th-grade student (equivalent to PYP 8) AY 2021/2022. Mariam is registered in the Egyptian International School Al Sheikh Zayed (1st governmental school offering the IB diploma). She is always one of the top students, not only on the academic level but also in other activities and competitions within her school. 

This year Mariam graduated from PYP (Elementary level) to MYP (Middle level). By this, she succeeded in being the first totally blind student registered in a governmental school to finish the first part of the IB system.

She was also awarded 1st place in the spelling bee for her age (memorizing and getting familiar with the words through using braille).

• She was awarded a recognition certificate for reciting the Quran in 5 different parts.
• She participated in music events and choirs.
• She was awarded a certificate for her presentation skills. Based on that, she was nominated to be the host and interviewer for the final presentation for the whole PYP stage.
