MALAK'S SUCCESS STORY

Malak Ramadan is a 15-year-old girl in the 3rd preparatory stage. Malak is registered in Zohour el-Yasmine school and became the 1st totally blind child in a mainstream school to take her exams totally and entirely independently without any support or assistance. She obtained an exceptional grade of 265.5 points, equivalent to 92.6%.
After her mid-year exams, Baseera Foundation realized that Geometry was a significant part of the next term’s mathematics. The foundation took the initiative with the school to approach the Ministry of Education to discuss and decide how they could support Malak regarding her exams, especially geometrical drawings. Baseera Foundation, with the help of MoHE, went through several attempts and suggestions for drawing shapes and describing them. At last, Baseera was able to provide the tools that can be used in class to teach Malak Geometry. In addition, Baseera gave the educational department in MOHE zoom session to explain the process of how to use those tools.
Malak took all her exams on her laptop (using Jaws program), supported with the required tools and modifications in Geometry and science.
This is not only the success story of a girl but of the MOHE and all blind students who will follow in her footsteps.
